Rolex - Rolex Datejust White Gold Gilt Dial Ref. 1601, 1967

The reference 1601 in white gold is one of the most understated Rolex watches. Known only to true enthusiasts, it is incredibly rare, as most 1601s were made in stainless steel, some in yellow gold, and very few in white and pink gold.
This example, from 1967, is in excellent condition, showing only light wear despite its 57 years. It features a rare and beautiful gilt dial, which retains its full gloss. The gilt dial, with gold-colored print beneath the glossy lacquer, has baton indexes and doorstop indexes at 6 and 9.
The lume plots have aged to a rich pumpkin brown, matching the lume on the rare sword hands. With growing demand for vintage Day-Dates, rare precious metal Datejusts like this one have become highly sought after.

Case: Excellent 18K white gold case that remains in very nice original condition with strong lugs and crisp edges. The fluted bezel is also retained in very good condition. Case numbers are clear and intact.
Dial: Excellent black gilt dial with doorstop markers at 6 and 9. The surface of the dial is fully glossy with no loss of gloss visible. The hands are dagger hands and are in very good condition too. The luminous material on dial and hands has aged to a pumpkin brown color.
