Rolex - Rolex Day Date Fossil Dial NOS Ref. 18238 (with Papers), 1995
Jurassic Park
Hard to believe that Rolex went that far to use millions of years old petrified fossils for their dials but as we can see here, they did, and we are not surprised. We don't believe there are many of these out there. Slicing a piece of fossilized stone, cutting and setting it with diamonds does not sound like many of these have survived manufacturing.
The Fossil dial comes in two versions, a light colour one and a dark one which almost looks black. The one offered here is in a light cream colour. The watch around the dials is pretty magnificent too, this 18238 is in absolute new condition and has never been worn or polished.
The watch is a feast for the eyes and looks so good. We are happy to offer this exceptionally rare Day Date with papers in a rare 'New old Stock' condition. You don't need a loupe to see that this watch is of highest quality.
