The Explorer II "Polar" is finally getting the recognition it deserves as collectors are understanding its significance in the sport Rolex lineup. While it isn’t the only white dial sport model, it has the potential to stand as a highlight in any collection of tool watches for its crisp and clean appearance against an array of primarily black matte and glossy dials. Similar to the Explorer 1, we love the playful connection to adventure these watches suggest from their intended tool purpose. Today, they remain a fantastic value in comparison to most Rolex featuring a GMT complication.

This particular W33X example, circa 1995 remains in fanastic vintage condition with and unpolished case/bracelet which remains tight. Notably, the bezel has also been very well preserved and there is a caseback sticker still present. The dial/hands have a very nice light cream patina. If you've been looking for a top "Polar" example, this piece hits all the right notes and of course benefits from its "holes" style case for quick strap changes in the field.

Dial: Fantastic and mint with light cream tritium plots. All of the lume has aged cleanly and evenly.
Bezel: Appears sharp and unpolished. All of the black enamel is still intact with the exception of a tiny mark in the "8" in "18." Overall, excellent preservation which is key for this model.
Hands: Are matching and all of their tritium is full and stable.
Case: Very sharp and appears unpolished with factory chamfers still clearly visible. The lugs are thick and evenly proportioned and there is a full caseback sticker still present. Correct signed crown.
Bracelet: Correct 78790 that appears unpolished, retaining 13 links. It remains tight and displays light signs of use.
Crystal: Clear.
