Little Radium Monster - This 1944 Rolex Speedking 2280 has everything we can wish for. The 30mm stainless steel case is well preserved and is showing healthy and strong proportions. The original gilt dial is super glossy and features a very dark gilt print that has aged to a dark copper hue. The numerals are Radium and alligned in the very popular California style. The hands are Gilt and also feature Radium luminous.

This watch, even with a small size of 30mm has a great wrist presence, with powerful looking Radium numerals and a beautiful play on the gloss of the dial.

Case: Very nice and strong vintage condition case that shows some wear from age. The lugs are fat and well defined, the smooth bezel is also in very good condition. The case back shows an engraving on the watch, it was most probably gifted in 1948.
Bracelet/Strap: Generic leather strap and buckle.
Dial: Very nice and rare glossy gilt dial with Arabic Radium numerals that are applied in a California style. The hands are gilt, also bearing the original radium luminous and showing the usual corrosion. The dial itself shows some wear from age. The print has aged to a dark copper color and is fully intact.
