Rolex - Rolex Submariner 126610LV - Full Set/ Near Mint
The Rolex Submariner "Kermit" was first released in 2003 as a 50th anniversary piece to celebrate the model line. It was the first Submariner to feature a green bezel, "maxi" dial/hands and is now highly coveted for its historical significance. Rolex have produced very few anniversary watch models over the years and the 16610LV stands out as our favorite for its unique transitional features. Following the "Kermit" came the "Hulk" with 6 digit ref. 116610LV. This piece notably moved to a "maxi" style case with ceramic bezel and housed a green dial that is also very collectible today. In current production is what collectors now refer to as the "Starbucks" which continues the green bezel nod to Rolex' brand colors. This piece has a trimmed down case which is more ergonomic for average sized writs and houses an upgraded 3135 movement.
This example, circa '24 comes as a complete set from new down to its white serialized hang tag - a component that is not replaceable and often lost or not included. It has remained in fantastic and near mint condition with virtually no notable wear. For anyone who wants a highly practical daily driver, the updated green Sub is one of our favorite recommendations and a great nod to the past.
