The ref. 5512 was brought to market to accompany the ref. 5513 as a slightly higher grade variant with chronometer certification. The 5512 of course was introduced with a glossy gilt dial and ran into the later matte dial era of production. That brings us to this example, circa 1973 with a matte dial and "feet first" text. This piece has remained in nice vintage condition with a strong case and bracelet, displaying light stretch. The dial has aged to a beautiful "buttermilk" patina with a matching hand set that is slightly warmer.
