Rolex - Rolex”Viceroy” Radium ref 3116

The Rolex Viceroy model dates from the World War II and is one of the most unusual vintage Rolex watches from mid 40’s. Its main features that differentiate it from the more classic “Ovetto” models of the same period are the manual winding caliber and the stepped flat case. This particular model is hard to find these days, especially with an original dial, hands and caseback like the present example.

This hand-wound Rolex “Viceroy” reference 3116 features a beautiful two-tone black dial with Art Deco style details and radium luminous Arabic numerals. The beauty and its rarity is further enhanced by its overall excellent condition. The stainless steel case is crisp and sharp with reference and serial number still clearly visible on caseback, perfectly working hand wound caliber, dial showing basically no signs of agin. The watch is supplied on a brown leather strap with an original Rolex buckle. Undoubtedly an excellent and extremely rare watch to add to a vintage Rolex collection.
