Other - Tanako Chateau Nouvelle Chronometer - Full Set / Near Mint
We are thrilled to present this Takano Chateau Nouvelle Chronometer by the renowned Japanese watchmaker Hajime Asaoka. Takano is Asaoka’s third project, including Kurono Tokyo and his eponymous watch brand. This time around, he is reviving a Japanese clock and watch company originally founded in 1899. In 1959, the company launch its first movement for wristwatches under the collection name of “Chateau” hence where the watch here gets its name from. The Chateau Nouvelle Chronometer is an elegant and classic dress watch combining refined finish with precision timekeeping, two qualities that embody the work of Asaoka. The case is mirror polished using the Zaratsu finishing technique, and the hands feature Asaoka’s signature take on syringe hands. The exhibition case back has the Takano logo and branding laser etched on the rotor given direct homage to the company’s founding.
This example remains in outstanding condition, and comes complete with box, papers, and chronometer-certification by the Observatoire de Besançon. This specific institute tests finished watches versus the more well-known COSC designation given by the Swiss counterpart to calibers. We are excited for the next collector to own this interesting and collectible piece!
