Cartier are mostly known for their manual wind pieces, however in the 1970s they produced two different automatic Tank references for a short period and as a result they have become highly collectible in recent times. The "Jumbo" ref. 17011 being the smaller model of the oversized Tank, while the "Jumbo XL" ref. 17002 offered here being the larger sibling. These can quickly be identified by their "bubble" type caseback to fit the ETA based caliber's winding mechanism. Despite this, these pieces still wear quite flat to the wrist as one would hope for from Cartier. This rare "Jumbo XL" tank on offer has remained in wonderful vintage condition with excellent dial/case preservation and comes with its period 18k deployant.
