Tissot - Tissot Navigator 4002-1 from 1952
Tissot Navigator 4002-1 from 1952. Yes, we are talking about a watch of 70 years old. A time when traveling was still an adventure and crossing timezones was easier with an appropriate tool. This Tissot Navigator appears in 1953 and was the first mass-produced wristwatch to feature 24 time zones, a watch dedicated to serious travelers.
The overall condition of this exemple is excellent. The perfect balance between condition and patina, I would say. Whereas most of them has a reprinted central disk. This one has aged very harmoniously, slightly faded and still perfectly readable.
With the pusher at 2 o'clock, this central city disc can be rotated independently of the local time. Allowing an additional time zone to be read off the gold-colored 24-hours ring.
The 36mm stainless steel case is in very good condition for lady of over 70 years old. It is powered by the automatic caliber 28.5 N-21 (bumper), which is functioning flawlessly.
This Navigator is a real gracefully aged vintage. Witness to a time when travelling was still synonymous of elegance and pleasure.
