Tudor - Tudor Prince Oysterdate Submariner 79090 w/ Blue Dial - Service Receipt

Tudor was founded in 1926 by the same founder as Rolex—Hans Wilsdorf. The brand was created in order to offer the same high quality that Rolex is known for at a more affordable price point. This was accomplished by leveraging their famous Oyster-style Rolex cases to house mass produced ETA, Valjoux and other third party calibers. Tudor's offerings from the "Snowflake" Submariner to the "Monte Carlo" are coveted by collectors today for their close connection to Rolex and arguably more interesting offerings through the decades.

This Prince Oysterdate Submariner ref. 79090 has a B40X serial placing its production date to circa '92. We are huge fans of this ref. due to its distinctive triangle indices at 6 and 9 o'clock. Its difficult to argue with the charm of its blue dial and aluminum insert which can't be found in the Rolex Sub lineup and they are just stunning on wrist. This particular example has remained in nice vintage condition with a mint dial that has aged to an "off-white" patina with matching handset. The insert is also fantastic with no notable wear and still retains its tritium pip. The case has been lightly polished but remains thick and even. It is fitted with a period Rolex 93150 which displays light to medium stretch, retains 9 links and will fit an approximate 7.25 inch wrist. For anyone looking for a perfect daily driver that's off the beaten path we're thrilled to offer you your next timepiece.

Dial: Is stunning and mint with no notable blemished under magnification. All of the tritium plots have aged cleanly to a nice "off-white" patina. Bezel insert: Fantastic with no notable blemishes. The tritium pip is still present. Hands: Are matching. There is some degradation particularly in the minute hand but we have resourced to color match them if the next owner so chooses. Case: The lugs remain thick and even. No distracting wear. Correct signed crown. Bracelet: Is a period Rolex 93150 from '93. It displays light to medium stretch, retains 9 links and will fit an approximate 7.25 inch wrist. Crystal: Clear. Accessories: Service receipt from Belmont Watches in '24. The movement is running well on our timegrapher and comes with our 1-year mechanical warranty.
