Tudor - Tudor Ranger

Tudor, founded by Hans Wilsdorf, the creator of Rolex, owes much of its early success to its affiliation with Rolex. Tudor timepieces were initially developed as an affordable alternative to Rolex, providing the same level of quality and craftsmanship, but at a lower price point.

In line with this concept, the stunning Tudor Ranger reference 7966/0 is a more affordable option to the renowned Rolex Explorer. This particular model is slightly smaller than the Explorer I, measuring 35mm as opposed to 36mm, and was produced in limited quantities, featuring both time-only and time and date displays – a feature that was never offered on the Explorer I.

This remarkable Tudor Ranger boasts a beautiful patinated dial with matching indexes and hands, as well as a stylized ‘arrow’ hour hand, which is a design element carried over onto the larger Ranger Heritage models currently found in the Tudor catalog.

Unlike its Rolex cousin, this watch features an off-the-shelf Swiss-made Caliber 2484 movement, rather than an in-house Rolex caliber. This results in a thinner case, making the watch much easier to wear. The timepiece also comes with a stylish Rolex bracelet 7835 with 357 endlinks.

This watch is an incredibly rare find due to its excellent condition, fascinating backstory, and limited production quantity. It is a true collectible gem that any watch enthusiast would be thrilled to add to their collection.
