Universal Geneve - Universal Geneve 30 Compas ref 22205
Here is a black dial chronograph with luminous losange hands and big mushrooms pushers.
This is a classic design from UG and was considered as a sport chronograph back then in the 40s. Almost 90 years old and the watch is still in an exceptional condition.
The dial is signed « Universal Geneve 30 Compax ». It’s specificity comes from the 30´ sub counter and the absence of tachymetric scale.
The 33mm case is amazingly sharp for the age, and the caliber UG 381 with Breguet hairspring is beating strong. The column wheel enables the chrono to start and stop very smoothly. The arabica numerals has developed a very nice patina through the age. The case back is nicely decorated and is screw down type offering a better waterproofing.
The model reference as well as the serial number are clearly and deeply engraved to the case back.
A very nice museum piece, very hard to find these days.
