Universal Geneve - Universal Geneve Pre-Polerouter | Rare Tuxedo Dial | Cornes de Vache Lugs

Universal Genève, once a beacon of Horology, is in the process of being resurrected, its legacy now in the hands of Breitling.

Amongst the many treasures from this storied marque is this a rare watch with majestic cow horn lugs and a tuxedo dial. This model, a relic of the 1940s to the 1959s, sat hidden in the collection of a Hong Kong based collector from Stelux Holdings which owned UG before Breitling had taken it over.

From the Polerouter, conceived by a young Gerald Genta, whispering tales of the Arctic to the Aero-Compax which once ruled the skies, as it guided aviators with its robust case and definitive sub-dials; Universal Genève’s legacy will continue, forever etched in the annals of watchmaking history.

The dial, a monochrome masterpiece, echoes the elegance of black-tie while the unique “cow horn” lugs, or cornes de vache, curve with assertiveness; daring yet refined. Featured here in original condition this is one rare watch in Enversteel (UG’s name for its stainless steel blend), powered by a mechanical 332 calibre.
