Universal Geneve - Universal Genève White Shadow Micro-Rotor w/ Gay Frères Bracelet
While the discussion around Universal Genève is mostly around the brands’ famed Polerouter which was designed by Gerald Genta early in his career. The Polerouter, along with the brands well-known chronograph models are a wonderful rabbit hole to delve into, but we believe the dressier White Shadow models are being almost entirely overlooked. The round case shapes are funky, yet elegant and slim on wrist and house what most collectors would consider to be a very high quality micro-rotor movement. This example boasts a Gay Frères bracelet that’s a joy to wear. Comparing it to the Patek rounded case shapes of the era wouldn’t be too much of a stretch and this model can be enjoyed for a fraction of the cost, without sacrificing much on quality.
