Blancpain - Villeret Minute Repeater Ref. 0033 Circa 1988
An absolutely incredible vintage Blancpain ref. 0033 Villeret Minute Repeater! Originally launched in 1988 in a limited series of 25 numbered pieces to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the brand. This is one of the original 6 masterpieces revealed at the inaugural relaunch of the brand by Jacques Piguet, son of Frédéric Piguet, and of course Mr. Jean-Claude Biver.
This watch features a compact 34mm case constructed of solid 18k gold housing a manually wound in-house Cal. 33 which is only 3.3mm thick making it one of the slimmest minutes repeaters ever produced. Overall the watch measures just 8.5mm thick including sapphire crystals on both the front and the back. The movement is beautifully finished and is individually numbered in Roman numerals signifying it is one of the first 25 pieces produced. The dial features a subtle two tone cream and white finish with apples Roman numerals and leaf hands. As you can see the watch is stunning yet sophisticated with an understated look and versatile look. It is truly a horological marvel and wears incredibly well. It is all original and comes with Blancpain signed buckle, box and booklet.
